Just imagine a great work, that you imagined early on in your life - a work that would be long, difficult, and require the help of so many of your loved ones and would mean a great deal of investment in all possible ways, be it material, human, or emotional - but that would all be worth it in the end. The plan is for no one to get seriously hurt, and certainly for no one to regret being part of it, and despite all the work and cost it entails, it would secure everything in the end and return tenfold everything it cost. An opportunity simply too great to dismiss. And then, towards what looks like the final main hurdle you have to complete, something goes wrong that messes everything up - partly others' doing and partly because of your own dumb neglect or lack of realization until it was too late. But still you've come too far to quit and miss out on the golden reward, and so you resort to even edgier and more and more extreme methods to mitigate the damage and keep your dream alive, since you were so close to the finish line. Until you finally realize you've become a complete hypocrite and a tyrant to try to protect what was ripped right out of your grasp at the very last moment. But despite all that, you STILL have to keep going no matter how much it sickens and drains you... If you lived with that for 10,000 years, then you would be the hollow shell the Emperor is now. At least...

Very good! I listened to this audiobook some time ago, and this part had just a glimpse of the dramatic tone you are able to show here! Amazing work!

I'm sorry, but the accent and voice for Vulkan just took me completely out of it.

The respect Pert had for Vulkan shines through.

We didn't get enough of Vulkan and Perturabo together. That first half of the conversation was beautiful.

The fact that the black rage causes the heart to stop for 8 beats hints at Khorne’s involvement It’s highly likely Angron’s wound on Sanguinius is linked to the black rage. Sanguinius said it felt like it poisoned him in some way.

Little did Perturabo know.... Fulgrim was at full mast during the entire conversation.

Perturabo is the best traitor primarch.. Fulgrim deserved it 100%... I love that Perty shows admiration for Vulkan briefly.

Something people have wanted for a while, and a great way to introduce the first Perturabo video! As a fan of Dorn and Fulgrim this is a tough one to say but Perturabo really does show up fantastically here, even if Fulgrim is still very much in his element in the bigger picture. Please note before you hype Perturabo and talk shit about Fulgrim here... Fulgrim has Perturabo exactly where he wants him. The trap has already sprung and Perturabo is being devoured in that very moment.

Lest we forget the end result of this action… I love Peter Turbo, but he got played like a fiddle in this story.

I played the first part of this as i was driving to the gym, not realizing how many parts there really were. Ended up listening to the whole thing and found some pretty great motivation bc of it. Props to you and the writer of this piece for making it such a fantastic listen

The Horus PoV in second person is actually so tragic. He’s having an out of body experience, like he’s barely in control as he watches his brother race towards a fate foretold.
